January 2nd 2003: Announcing PurpleGuitars.com

Our brandnew store is specialised in vintage and used guitars. Located in number one Rock-City The Hague, in Holland. Purple Guitars will be filling the gap that other guitarstores left us. We will search the globe for special (collectable) guitars wanted by our customers. You name it, we got it, or else we'll find it for you! We hope you'll enjoy our new company.

January 2003 : New guitars shipped from the U.S.

In January 2003 the first shipment of guitars will arrive from the States. The main portion of these guitars were bought in California (USA). This shipment includes: '57 Gretsch 6121, '72 Fender Telecaster Blonde, '63 Gretsch Tennessean, '02 PRS Custom 24 Artist, '01 PRS McCarty Rosewood, '75 Fender Stratocaster and many more...

February 2003 : Guitar Show Groesbeek.

PurpleGuitars will be attending the 7th Vintage guitar show in Groesbeek, Holland on Sunday February 9th 2003, the show will be from 10.30 am til 17.00 pm, Entrence fee will be 3 Euro Here's the adres: Cultureel Centrum De Mallemolen, Kloosterstraat 11 Groesbeek.

February 2003 : Guitar Show Groesbeek.

Purpleguitars.com had a great weekend at the vintage guitarshow in Groesbeek, Holland. Muts (our dog and Mascotte) just loves those empty guitar cases!!!

March 2003 : Vintage Guitarshow in Veenendaal.

PurpleGuitars.Com will be attending the Vintage Guitarshow in Veenendaal. From 10.00 a.m till 16.00 P.M. At the theatre "De Lampegiet" Kerkewijk 10 Veenendaal (The Netherlands)

March 2003: PurpleGuitars goes Texas, USA.

PurpleGuitars just came back from a guitar buying trip in Texas U.S.A, We bought about 30 really cool guitars, including a Fender Mother of Marble set, a few Gibson Les Pauls, the best Paul Reed Smith's we could find, Some Gretsch, Framus, Taylor, Gibson, Seagull, Silvertone, Fender, Ibanez guitars and a Marshall 30th Anniversary Amp. These Guitars are expected to arrive in our shop in Holland the beginning of May. Keep Checking our website for details.

April 2003 : Lots of New Guitars Coming Soon!

More than 30 guitars are coming soon to our store in Scheveningen, imported from the States. As soon as we have the delivery date we'll place it here. Pictures and more detailed info will be placed on the site before the end of this week. So have patience.... 'cause it will be rewarded!

May 2003 : Guitars have arrived U.S.!!!.

October 2003 : PurpleGuitars at Rock Around The Jukebox 2003

Purple Guitars will have a booth at the Rosmalen Jukebox & Memorabilia Show - Rock Around The Jukebox 2003. The show will be in the Autotron halls and is the best visited jukebox show in europe for Jukeboxes and is open on Saturday the 4th and Sunday the 5th of October. November 2003 : Latest news from the States.

Last month we payed another visit to the States. We rented this huge truck, had some breakfast and drove over to the Arlington Vintage Guitar Show in Dallas, Texas.Not only did we had a great time, but again we managed to find a bunch of beautiful vintage guitars and bought virtually every Paul Reed Smith we ran into

December 2003 : The container with 30 new guitars has arrived.

We just started unpacking but over 30 new vintage guitars have arrived. The store is open 7 days a week. So whenever you can, stop by and you'll be one of the first to see (and buy) the guitars from our new collection.

January 2004 : STARWEAR... Really Cool Shirts!

April 2004: NEW CONTAINER HAS ARRIVED

This week a new container filled with stuff from the US has arrived at our store at Scheveningen. First of all the new guitars. To name some, Gibson ES 335 1968, MusicMan Eddie van Halen, Gretsch Keith Scott, Gretsch Brian Setzer Hot Rod, Fender P-bass '72, PRS Custom 24. Check out all the new guitars on our inventory pages. As usual the container was also packed up with other fifties stuff, jukeboxes, pinnball machines (like the highly collectable new Lord Of The Ring machine), a complete new collection of StarWear fashion (boys & girls), and much more.

May 2004: Steve Vai in Holland

We were invited to all the Steve Vai shows, and the Masterclass. Steve played with the Metropole Orchestra and it was a dream come true for him finally getting his music performed by and with a full orchestra. It was a great experience! We had Steve signed all our Ibanez Jems and Universes and they are now available in our store!!!Thank you Steve and Ruta!!! The picture below shows one of Steve's favourite hobbies: licking guitars....

June 2004: Lee and Tooske at PurpleGuitars

Though we not always dig the music of Lee Towers we do respect the career of this guy who sold out Ahoy probably a thousand times. And lets not forget that Lee like us is a great Elvis fan. Lee recorded a new album dedicated to Elvis and came to our store to film an item for a TV program presented by Tooske. And hey......a girl like Tooske is always welcome in our store.

August 2004: Purple Guitars Rocks Schollenpop 2004
PurpleGuitars, BenniesFifties, TTS-QBT were the main sponsors of the 2004 edition of Schollenpop. A great festival at the beach of Scheveningen. Bootstrap kicked of in a burning sun and made everybody's tempature rising when they played Elvis's Burning Love. One of the highlights of the festival was the unexpected return of Mr. Andy Tielman on a big stage when he rocked everybody of there feet with dazzling versions of Whole Lotta Shakin" and Blue Sued Shoes. Bootstrap was honoured to accompany Andy during this historic moment.

September 2004: New guitars on the way.

Last week we made a new trip to the States. Again we found a bunch of beautiful guitars. Some Gretsches, PRS, Gibsons, Fenders etc. Also loads of new StarWear shirts and other cool items. We will make one more trip to the US in october, load the container and expect the guitars to arrive by the end of november.

October 2004: Yorin (Dutch TV Station) visits PurpleGuitars.

Today actor WINSTON POST and his camera team visited our store. They we're making an item about vintage guitars, jukeboxes etc. for a program called DEN HAAG LIVE. We had ANDY TIELMAN in the store who showed a couple of his tricks and explains why he loves old guitars so much. You can watch this program on saturday the 16th of october.

November 2004: More new guitars.

Again we visited the States this week and found another bunch of beautiful guitars, some 70's Strats, some Les Pauls, a couple of great Jazzmasters, ES 125, ES 330, etc. Click HERE to check out our new arrivals and gear that's coming soon.

December 2004: New container has arrived !!!

This week father Christmas dropped a 40 feet container in front of our store piled up with guitars, jukeboxes, pinball machines, Elvis stuff, and other goodies we all wish to find under the tree. Gibson ES 125, Goldtops, Customs, ES 175, ES 330, Fender Strats, Jazzmasters, Gretsch 6120's etc. etc. etc. Check out our new arrivals for a complete overview.

January 2005: George Baker found his way to PurpleGuitars!

The picture below shows George Baker with his new baby, a beautiful Gretsch White Falcon that we just sold to him. This guy is the biggest album-selling artist in Holland of all times. Back on the track since Quentin Tarentino used his top 5 US Billboard Top 100 hit 'Little Green Bag' for one of the best movies of all times 'Resevoir Dogs'. Sold 9 million copies of 'Una Paloma Blanca' and had several other big hits. And.... is still a very nice guy who knows guitars. Thanks for doing business with you.

April 2005: New Container has arrived..

Last week we went over the Atlantic to find more stuff for our collection. This week a new container filled with stuff from the US has arrived at our store at Scheveningen. First of all the new guitars. To name some, Gibson ES 175 71, Les Pauls, a couple of Country Clubs, Jazzmasters etc. Check out all the new guitars on our inventory pages. We also bought a bunch of amps, Bassman 62, 63, 65, 69, Tremolux 63, Twin Reverb 67, etc.

May 2005: Awards.

We promised you to show our most beautiful vintage guitar award won by our 1956 Gretsch 6120 at the last Veenendaal Vintage Show as soon as it arrived at the store. Well here it is together with the MTV award Kane won this year. Again best rock band. Congratulations guys.

July 2005: Small Fenders...

We have really small Fender guitars in the store, ideal for christmas presents! Only 14.95 euro!!!! They are very detailed. The models are Fender Telecaster, Fender Stratocaster, Fender Jazzbass and Fender Precision bass.

August 2005: PurpleGuitars Powers Schollenpop..

For the second year in a row PurpleGuitars supports Schollenpop. Mr.Poh, MICK, Bootstrap, Voicst, Peter Pan Speedrock and Intwine played the beach on a sunny but windy saturday.

October 2005: Backstage Area now open!

We already opened a couple of backstage pages on our site. Lots of info about Kane, other bands, gigs in the area, friends etc. Have fun browsing, there's more to come later.

December 2005: New Guitars have arrived!

February 2006: Di-Rect's Spike falls for vintage Strat.

PurpleGuitars is main sponsor for the Schollenpop Festival. The festival was visited by some 15.000 (!) people this year. The Icons, 40 Stone, Seven, The Suburbs, Maroen, Nailpin, Loonaloop and Fish all played during the lovely day at the Beach!
